So this year was unusual as we got to spend all of the Summer together for the first time!
Malvy went to the beach for a week with the school to Mimizan ……She had a fantastic week, surfing and hanging out with her new friends. Kutty, Picsou and I took a few days in the beautiful seaside town of St Jean de Luz, walking by the sea, eating great local fish and drink some good old basque wine.
Passer les grandes vacances ensemble pour la premiere fois – genial. Malvy a fait une semaine a la plage atlantique avec l’ecole et Kutty, Picsou et moi sommes passe quelque jours a St jean de Luz – promenades a cote de la mer, des plats locals de poisson et crustaces et du bon vin local.
Then to the celebration of Lou’s big 5-0 in San Sebastian. So good! Some of the best meals of my life including whole turbot, fish cheeks, tapas from the bar…..and lots of local Txakoli wine. We swam in the sea, spent the afternoon in the most kitsch fun park ever high up above the bay. The Brexit result started to sink in around 3 in the afternoon but a quick siesta and some bubbles kept my denial going. Back to Beaumont and end of school and a lovely party with glamorous, celebrity guests from London and our growing Beaumont family.
Et puis, feter le Grand 5-0 de Lou a San Sebastian. Des repas magnifiques – de turbot entier, joues de poisson, tapas…j’etais dans les nuages jusqu’au 15h quand l’importance des resultats de Brexit me trouvaient, soulages par une sieste et des bulles. Une fette super a la maison avec 2 vedettes de Londres et notre famille Beaumontoise.
The Summer was perfect – sunny days swimming, eating, drinking and lazing with good friends and family.
